STUDENTS

PAUSE FOR APPLAUSE: Congratulations to Haleigh Knapp on becoming our 2X State Champion with a personal record high jump of 5' 8" and to Leona Burton for taking 9th place with a personal record long jump of 17' 3" at the IHSA Class 2A State Girls Track Meet on May 17-18 at Eastern Illinois University.

Attention runners interested in joining the cross country team: Please attend a brief, informative meeting after school this Wednesday, the 22nd in the main gym.  Whether you have completed ultra marathons or get tired running from your house to your car when it’s raining, we’d love to have you! You don’t have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great!

Attention all students: The MCHS Class of 2013 has their last day of classes on Wednesday, but they'll be back Wednesday night to take their final bow on the MCHS stage and you can join them. Join us for the 2013 MCHS Senior Play--If These Halls Could Talk. The senior play is an MCHS tradition that is written, directed, and performed by the senior class. Showtime is Wednesday night at 7:00 in the auditorium. Admission is a donation which will be used to support the MCHS Drama Club. Send the seniors off in style--see you at the senior play.

Senior play cast and crew: Today's dress rehearsal begins right after school. Be in costume and ready to start the show by 3:20. We will be running it straight through and then going back to fix problem spots. All cast and crew must attend.

Any boys interested in coming out for the wrestling team next year there will be a meeting on Tuesday May 21st in room 213 at 7:30 a.m. or 3:10 p.m. for summer league, lifting, and camp schedules.  You can attend which ever meeting works best for you.  The meeting will be brief.

Attention freshmen, sophomore, and junior English students: Next year if you are registered for Eng. 2-H, Eng. 3-CP, Eng. 3-H, Eng. 4-CP, or Eng. 4-AP/H, you have required summer reading to complete before the first day of school in August. All materials will be updated on the high school website very soon, but for now, speak to your current English teacher to find out about book titles and any additional information.

The library will be selling hallway pictures from past years and books that have been deleted from the collection. Items will be available in the library for the next week. Like any good sale, shop early for the best selection!!!

Any students interested in playing football next year for the Class 5A State Runner-up Morris Redskins, we will have an important meeting TODAY in the main gym after school. We will be handing out summer schedules, if you plan on playing you must attend. See Coach Thorson with any questions.

Attention All Seniors:  The senior class trip to Six Flags Great America is Thursday, May 23rd. Buses will leave from circle drive at 8:30 am and return around 8:00 pm.  If you have a sibling graduating from junior high, you can sign up for the early return bus.  Each ticket costs $20 and can be purchased before and after school TODAY and tomorrow at the main gym concession stand.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Dite in room 226B.

Prom pictures are in.  Please see Mrs. Edwards in Room 122 before or after school to pick up your pictures.

The Art Club induction ceremony will be held after school on Tuesday, May 21st. If you have participated in any three events with the club you are eligible to be inducted. All current members who were inducted prior to this year are encouraged to attend and welcome the new inductees. If you believe you are eligible for induction see Mrs. Hankins by this Friday, May 17th.
